Within these pages you may join the Association, learn about our organization, purchase Association merchandise, and catch up on the latest Alumni news. All you need to do is follow the menu options to the right.

First, a little more about who we are and how the Association was created. It was often said that the Boxwell staff needed some sort of alumni group, and of course there are reunions, some online groups, and staffers that get together now and then, but there was not anything formal to span all the years of Boxwell staff that have been serving the Reservation since 1921. After the last reunion it became more apparent than ever that it was time to explore the idea. On September 18th, 2021 the alumni committee, mostly formed out of the 2021 reunion committee began meeting on a regular basis to plan how to move forward with that idea.

Two years later the Boxwell Staff Alumni Association officially formed on September 30, 2023 with a kickoff event held at Camp Parnell at Boxwell Reservation.

The mission of the Boxwell Staff Alumni Association is to support the Boxwell program, current staff, and the Reservation through service, preserve the Staff history and legacy, and facilitate connections for Boxwell staff alumni.

Thank you for your service to Boxwell Reservation and Scouting. We look forward to working with you on projects to continue to improve both the camp and its staff.

Membership

Who may join the Alumni Association?

Membership is open to former and current staff members who have been compensated for completing their contractual agreement for summer camp staff - meaning you were a member of the paid summer camp staff. Winter camp, jamboree, district event, or similar volunteer staff are, unfortunately, not eligible.

As a member you will receive a membership packet of materials when you register. Members also receive a bi-monthly electronic newsletter via email to keep up with camp and staff alumni happenings. Click here for a preview of our Volume 1 Issue 1 newsletter the "Alumni Times".

You will also be eligible to attend BSAA functions organized by the BSAA Board and the Special Events Committee. The initial membership fee is $35 for the first year to cover the cost of your membership materials and postage with a $25 annual membership due.

How to Register as a Member

To register as a member you will need to complete the online form linked below and pay the membership dues. At the end of the registration form there will be a link for payment. If you prefer to mail a check instead for payment please contact us at boxwellstaffalumni@gmail.com.

The membership dues from your registration will allow the Alumni Association to perform most of the functions we are interested in pursuing. All leadership positions within the BSAA - such as the board of directors and committee members - are 100% volunteer non-paid positions. Further, the Association is a 501(c)3 organization, meaning that you may make contributions to the organization which may be used as tax write-offs.

News

Spring Annual Meeting and Dinner - March 29, 2025

The Boxwell Staff Alumni Association boardThe Boxwell Staff Alumni Association (BSAA) Board would like to invite you to our Spring meeting and dinner/cookout to be held on Saturday March 29, 2025 starting at 1:00 PM at the Cubworld Dining Hall. The Spring meeting is a gathering that will be open to the BSAA membership and their guests. New members can also sign up at the event. We will also conduct our annual business meeting and discuss some of our upcoming plans for the Association. This is not a reunion or camp wide event since other areas of the reservation are in use by other groups. We ask that you remain at Cubworld dining hall while at Boxwell. Tickets for dinner must be purchased ahead of time so we know how much food to order. Tickets may be purchased up to March 24th. Tickets are $15 per person to cover the cost of dinner for association members and their guests (including children). The business meeting will begin at 1:45 PM. If you do not want to join us for lunch at 1:00 PM you are still welcome to join us at 1:45 PM for the business meeting.

Fall Meet-up - November 2024 - Alumni Bowling

The Boxwell Staff Alumni Association board along with the Special Events Committee would like to invite you to our Fall Meet-up. This year the Fall Meet-up will be an Alumni Bowling event to be held on November 2, 2024 from 2 to 4 PM at the Hendersonville Strike and Spare located at 90 Volunteer Drive in Hendersonville, TN. The Fall meet-up will be open to the BSAA membership, their family and their guests.

Tickets for bowling at the event are $25 and include bowling for two hours and shoe rental. We will also have BSAA merchandise door prizes at the event. Registration/ticket pick-up will open at 1:30 with Bowling to start at 2PM.

Want cool Alumni Association gear?

Click the link below to browse our BSAA merchandise store. We have t-shirts, custom polo shirts, jackets and hats available. When you place an order please keep in mind that customized items may take some additional time to process because of the customizations. All money raised through this merchandise, excluding the cost and shipping of the items, is used to support the Association's mission to improve Boxwell.

You may also make donations to the BSAA through the square merchandise store. Further, the Association is a 501(c)3 organization, meaning that you may make contributions to the organization which may be used as tax write-offs.
